Coffee in Bay Head. A beach break in Mantoloking. Boats at the inlet. Pick a little adventure, hop on a cruiser, and make a day of it.

Our local ride ideas bring together places to pause, eat, explore, and enjoy the Shore at your own pace.

A slow morning
in Bay Head

COFFEE • LITTLE SHOPS • TIME BY THE BAY

Start with a coffee and something sweet, wander downtown, then take the long way back past the park. Leave room in your basket for picnic supplies—and in your schedule for an unplanned stop.

Make it your own: Port Coffee or Noon, a treat at Mueller’s, then provisions from Bay Head Cheese Shop or Burke’s Market.

MANTOLOKING → LAVALLETTE

Make the coast your day out. Pause for the beach in Mantoloking, continue south for lunch, and finish with a stroll along the Lavallette boardwalk. This is a ride to stretch out and savor.

Build in a stop at Dune Grass Cafe at Used To Be’s, a bite at Meg’s or The Crabs Claw, and ice cream at Kaboodles on the way. East Avenue, Barnegat Lane, and Bay Avenue are local streets to explore where they connect.

POINT PLEASANT • BOARDWALK • BOAT WATCHING

Head north for a day that feels like a classic Shore vacation. Browse downtown shops, make time for a seafood lunch, and find a spot on the Point Pleasant Beach side of Manasquan Inlet to watch the boats come and go.

Round it out with ice cream and the boardwalk amusements. Park and walk whenever bike access is restricted. For a different outing, explore downtown Point Pleasant’s antique shops and brewery stops.

LONGER RIDES • A LITTLE MORE ADVENTURE

Turn lunch into a destination with a ride toward Brielle and the Manasquan side of the river. Or plan a bigger coastal outing south toward Island Beach State Park, with plenty of time for the return trip.

These are outings to plan ahead. Open the biking map for distance and estimated ride time, then stop in and talk through the ride with us before setting out.
